Previous Projects

ReBuild ATL

The ReBuildATL initiative demonstrates a comprehensive approach to tackling energy insecurity and employment challenges in Atlanta's underserved neighborhoods. Focused on the Justice40 priorities, the project integrates a series of interconnected strategies:

  • Community Engagement and Education: Strengthening community bonds and energy knowledge through workshops and homeowner surveys, laying the foundation for informed participation in clean energy transitions.
  • Workforce Development: Launching the "Breaking Barriers" program, ReBuildATL has trained and placed residents in new clean energy jobs, promoting economic resilience and environmental stewardship.
  • Energy Efficiency Projects: Implementing energy audits, weatherization, and the installation of energy meters in homes, this initiative is not just about immediate relief but fostering long-term sustainability and reducing the energy burden on low-to-moderate income families.
  • Green Workforce Training: With an emphasis on deconstruction and energy efficiency, the project has already achieved significant milestones, including training 200 individuals and conducting 200 energy audits, leading to 300 weatherized homes and 100 homes equipped with energy meters.
