Environmental Impact

ReGen prioritizes environmental initiatives that promote scale energy efficiency,  clean energy integration, and the development of new climate resilient and healthy housing. ReGen drives community adoption of reclamation, recycling, and reuse principles along with  clean energy infrastructure  as essential solutions to neighborhood environmental challenges.

Key Environmental Partnerships

Energy Equity Research Network (EERN) Project

ReGen ,in partnership with The Paradise Center and   Georgia Tech's School of Architecture - High Performance Building Lab, launched a ground-breaking project to monitor energy use in 50 homes with unprecedented precision. This collaboration aims to empower households with strategies to reduce energy bills through efficiency and electrification, leveraging real-time energy data. By engaging the Hollowell Corridor community residents through surveys and workshops, the project also seeks to align household energy practices with broader sustainability goals. Insights from this initiative are fueling the development of a more accurate Urban Building Energy Model, which aims to guide energy retrofitting and policy strategies, especially for underserved communities.

ReBuildATL Coaliton and LifeCycle Building Center of Greater Atlanta

ReGen is core founding member of the ReBuildATL Coalition initiative demonstrates a comprehensive approach to tackling environmental , clean energy and workforce challenges in Atlanta's underserved neighborhoods. The Coalition integrates a series of interconnected strategies:

  • Community Engagement and Education: Strengthening community bonds and energy knowledge through workshops and homeowner surveys, laying the foundation for informed participation in clean energy transitions.
  • Workforce Development: Launching the "Breaking Barriers" program, ReBuildATL has trained and placed residents in new clean energy jobs, promoting economic resilience and environmental stewardship.
  • Energy Efficiency Projects: Implementing energy audits and  weatherization education for homeowners. This initiative is not just about immediate relief but fostering long-term sustainability and reducing the energy burden on low-to-moderate income families.
  • Green Workforce Training: With an emphasis on deconstruction and energy efficiency, the project has agreesive annual goals  to training and guide unemplyed and underemployed residents to liveable wage careers.
