Social Impact

ReGen is dedicated to strengthening community ties and preserving the unique cultural and historical identity of vulnerable communities. Our programs are designed to promote wellness and provide increased access to essential services for residents. This includes initiatives like health food production and comprehensive youth programs, which not only enhance wellness but also build community resilience and cohesion.

Previous Projects

Paradise Community Development Center (PCDC)

  • PCDC is dedicated to fostering a society where prosperity is measured not by wealth alone, but by well-being and empowerment of all its members. Our mission is centered on mobilizing resources to meet the needs of families and communities, empowering them to leverage their own strengths, and offering comprehensive support for skill development, education, and life-changing opportunities.
  • PCDC operates through specialized committees focusing on governance, finance and facilities, communication and community engagement, and programs in housing, education, and wellness. Our targeted areas of impact include supporting children and youth, enhancing housing and education opportunities, promoting lifelong learning, and fostering wellness across all dimensions of life.

Westside Greenhouses and Gardens

  • Addressing the challenge of food scarcity in Grove Park and nearby areas, the Westside Greenhouses and Gardens project, lead by the Paradise Community Development Center (PCDC), introduces urban gardening as a sustainable solution for low-to-moderate income communities. With a lack of local grocery stores offering fresh produce, this initiative aims to provide residents, especially the elderly, with direct access to fresh fruits and vegetables. Launching with the installation of twenty greenhouses and twenty garden boxes at homes and community spaces, including libraries, senior centers, and schools, the project is designed to empower legacy senior homeowners with the means for self-sufficient food production. This approach not only combats the area's designation as a food desert but also addresses the compounded challenges of rising food costs, climate change, and the aftermath of COVID on food security. Through fostering convenient and sustainable fresh food access, the Westside Greenhouses and Gardens project marks a significant step toward healthier, more resilient communities.
